In the transformation of Sarinah building project, a 5-story parking structure was designed to facilitate the need of car park for Sarinah development.

Davy Sukamta & Partners is appointed to design a 5-story parking structure for Gedung Sarinah transformation development. The building is located in the special preservation zone. The impact due to the presence of the building need to consider the surrounding neighbourhood. The green parking space with terraces on the East side design aims to nurture a more ecological place in response to the Cultural Heritage Area.

Like most projects, Davy Sukamta & Partners always aims to complete at the shortest time as possible as a means to minimize cost of capital. The structural steel system is one of the key factors for a faster construction as well as a lighter structure in this project. This means that the foundation requirements are also greatly reduced.

We also consider the local availability of steel materials with high seismic ductility to fulfil short construction time constraints. Structural steel special moment frame system was designed to provide building lateral resistance to earthquake forces. The soil condition consists of very soft upper layer, and hydraulic static pile driving has been adopted to minimize the damage of surrounding buildings. The parking structure was completed in October 2021.
