The plant is developed by PT. Sumalindo Lestari Jaya (ASTRA Group), a wood-based company, on a 100-hectare hilly terrain land with very soft clay along the riverbank. This project consists of two medium density fireboard plants, with an annual capacity of 100,000 cubic metres each, log yard, power plant building, warehouse, office, housing, infrastructure, and a timber jetty.
Davy Sukamta & Partners was appointed as the main consultant for this project. The scope of works included architectural design, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, and site supervision of the entire development.
The construction cost for Plant 1 was 49.70 million USD and Plant 2 was 55.35 million USD.
