Rumah Budaya Indonesia Kaya (RuBIK), JAKARTA

Rumah Budaya Indonesia Kaya (RuBIK) is a multi-story theater and concert hall located in Jakarta, accommodating up to 1,200 seats with a total construction area of approximately 40,000 square meters. The project is envisioned as a cultural landmark and a key hub for the arts in West Jakarta. Currently, piling work is underway to establish the foundation for this iconic development.

The architectural concept of RuBIK was designed by SHAU and further developed by Shimizu Corporation. The building features distinctive design elements, including diagonally terraced massing, a semi-outdoor lobby located beneath the theater hall, and a culturally inspired façade.

Davy Sukamta & Partners was appointed as the structural engineer, working in collaboration with Shimizu Corporation throughout the design process. RuBIK’s structural system is a balanced hybrid of reinforced concrete and steel. A ductile reinforced concrete moment frame system is employed for the building’s seismic resistance, while steel structures are strategically utilized to accommodate the building’s challenging architectural features.
